As the rest of Australia watches Greater Sydney face another four weeks of lockdown we spoke to five individuals about their reasons for getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
Student Harry Allen, 19, got the Pfizer vaccine and said it "went really well" as he "didn't feel a thing" from the jab on Monday.
"I wasn't really that sceptical but at the end of the day it's a good benefit for our country, you know?" Mr Allen told ACM.
"Trying to keep us safe from what's going on Sydney."
The student advised fellow young people to "get it (the vaccine) while they can".
Charmaine Peterson, 51, chose the Pfizer vaccine for "age and health conditions" after consulting with her doctor.
Ms Peterson described the vaccination process as "easy" and "gentle".
"Conditions in there are really nice. Air conditioned, comfy," she said.
Sales manager Paul Drake, 57, came from the Central Coast to get the Pfizer vaccine at the Belmont vaccination hub in Newcastle.
"(It was a) bit of a different process. I'm from the Central Coast so I had to go in a separate tent," he said.
"And then once we got moving through it was good. No issues, nice and quick."
Mr Drake encouraged others to also get vaccinated if it is available to them.
"Get in, get the jab, that's painless. Nice and quick and you're helping everyone out in the community," he said.
Accountant Cindy Burton, 49, also got the Pfizer vaccine at the Belmont hub.
"I just wanted to be vaccinated and Pfizer was the one that was in my age group," she said.
Ms Burton said the vaccination was "very quick" but waiting in line was "not so quick".
A 37-year-old electrician received his second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, which he decided to get after doing research.
"(It went) all good. Can't complain," he said.
"Still fit, still good. I'm now vaccinated."
He encouraged others to also get vaccinated and "stay safe".
