Four things you can do to help We The Curious after devastating fire

We The Curious will remain closed for 'some weeks' after a devasting fire ripped through the building. The science museum has closed temporarily to assess the damage on the site.

Plumes of smoke were visible across the city on Saturday afternoon (April 9) after a fire broke out on the roof on a section of the solar panels. "Key server systems" had been damaged, the museum announced in a statement, leading the popular attraction to announce its closure for a few weeks after significant fire and water damage.

The museum will undoubtedly take a hit amid its temporary closure, especially during the busy Easter holiday period. Now, Bristol City Centre Bid has shared four things people can do to help the science museum get back on its feet after the blaze. If you are able to, people can make an online donation, purchase a gift voucher for a present for a friend or family member, or buy an item from the online shop.

As it happened: Major fire at We The Curious in Bristol city centre

If you are unable to offer financial support, simply retweeting or resharing the message shared to its Twitter page would help to spread the word of the campaign further. You can stay informed on any updates from the museum, including news on its reopening, by following their pages on social media.

Investigations are now underway to further identify why the fire broke out in the building on Saturday afternoon. The museum said visitors were safely evacuated from the building.
