Four things spotted in Everton training as Dominic Calvert-Lewin pictured and defender missing

Everton are looking to make it two wins from two on Sunday as they face Crystal Palace in the Premier League this Sunday.

The Blues ended a poor run of form with a 2-1 victory over Arsenal earlier this week thanks to a later winner from Demarai Gray.

Everton moved up to 12th in the table and will hope to avoid another eight-game run without a win.

We've spotted four things from the Blues' latest round of training images.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin boost

Forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin is yet to return to action for the Blues, but is making strides forward as he was pictured out on the pitch doing individual training on Thursday.

The England international has been absent since August with a thigh problem and awaits his return to full team training.

Rafa Benitez confirmed in his press conference on Friday: "Dominic is getting closer, obviously.

"Every training session that he is doing with the rehabilitation coach, he's getting better."

Yerry Mina blow

The Toffees have been handed yet another injury blow with defender Yerry Mina set to miss this weekend's trip to Selhurst Park.

The Colombia international wasn't pictured in training on Thursday and Benitez confirmed in his pre-match press conference he won't be available on Sunday.

Mina returned to the starting line-up in the 2-1 win against Arsenal earlier this week following a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

However, he lasted just half an hour before he was forced off with a calf problem and was replaced by Mason Holgate.

Youngsters involved

The pictures from the latest Everton training session show a number of youngsters were involved in the action.

Ryan Astley was captured battling for the ball with the match winner from the Arsenal game, Gray.

Ellis Simms, 20, was also pictured in training ahead of Sunday's trip to South London.

Digne has point to prove

Defender Lucas Digne has a point to prove after he was left out of the Everton squad for the win over Arsenal on Monday night.

While Benitez confirmed in his press conference on Friday a decision for Sunday has not yet been made, the 28-year-old was captured working hard at Finch Farm.

The Blues boss told the media: "I think Lucas was clear, it's the manager's decision.

"He has been training today and we will decide tomorrow, it's a normal situation with a player that is training."

Digne was captured battling with Richarlison and completing some shooting practice as his teammates watched on.
