The Tennessee Titans headed into Sunday’s matchup against the Houston Texans with one thing on their minds — getting a win to lock down a place in the playoffs.
The Titans did just that, recording a dominant 35-14 win on the road at NRG Stadium.
Here’s a look at just four players who were major contributors on the win.
1. RB Derrick Henry.
Meet the NFL’s new leading rusher. Henry surpassed Nick Chubb on Sunday, and now totals 1,329 yards on the ground this season.
Henry hardly looked affected by the hamstring injury that’s hindered him recently, and finished the game with 32 carries for 211 yards with three touchdowns.
2. QB Ryan Tannehill.
Tannehill may have started out as nothing more than an insurance policy for Marcus Mariota, but he’s certainly made a case to be the team’s starter of the future.
He finished the day, 13-of-20 passing for 198 yards and two touchdowns.
3. S Kevin Byard.
The league’s best safety was a leader on defense for the Titans, coming up with an interception toward in the final minutes of the fourth quarter. The Titans offense capitalized on the turnover with a 53-yard Derrick Henry touchdown on the following drive.
Byard recorded seven total tackles and one interception on the day.
4. WR AJ Brown.
Brown has had no shortage of big plays on an impressive rookie campaign, including a 51-yard reception that put the Titans on the board for the first time Sunday,
He was far and away the leading receiver of the game between both teams, reeling in four receptions for 124 yards and one touchdown.
