Four people now charged with murder of Andre Gayle in Bristol

Three more people are due in court on Friday charged with the murder of Andre Gayle in Bristol a month ago.

It brings the total of number of people charged with murder to four, following the appearance in court earlier this week of a man from London.

This afternoon, police charged three people with murder, including a teenager and two 27-year-olds.

Rico Corbin and Tyan Finlayson are both 27 and both from Speedwell, and have been charged with murder. They remain in custody pending their first appearance before magistrates in court in Bristol in the morning, Friday (October 2).

A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named due to his age, was charged earlier on Thursday and initially appeared in court on Thursday afternoon, for a brief hearing which was adjourned so he could join the other two in the dock in the morning.

Mr Gayle died in hospital two days after he suffered stab wounds in an incident in Easton in the early hours of Monday, August 31.

A total of 14 people have been arrested in connection with the death of the 29-year-old, from Bristol, in the weeks since.

The first to be charged was Jerome Lewis, 24, from London. He appeared before magistrates on Tuesday this week, September 29, and was remanded in custody pending an appearance before the Crown Court.

His case was listed and opened in Bristol Crown Court earlier today, Thursday, but he did not attend, and it was adjourned for a plea and preparation hearing later in October.

Ten other people, aged between 16 and 40, have been arrested in connection with the investigation.
