Four men arrested after police chase in south Bristol

A Filton man will appear in court following a police chase in south Bristol which ended in four arrests.

Officers in a marked police car asked the driver of a car in Newquay Road to stop on Friday evening (September 20).

However, the driver refused to do so and made off at speed, hitting at least three others vehicles in Wedmore Vale.

He then stopped in St Johns Lane and four men were arrested nearby shortly before 9pm.

Daniel Robinson will now appear before Bristol Magistrates' Court on Monday (September 23).

The 28-year-old is charged with dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, failing to stop for police and driving with no insurance.

Three other men have been released under investigation.

A spokeswoman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: "A man is due in court on Monday (September 23) after a car failed to stop for police in south Bristol.

"Patrolling officers in a marked police car asked the driver of a car to stop in Newquay Road at 8.34pm on Friday (September 20).

"The driver made off at speed and almost immediately was involved in a collision with at least three other vehicles in Wedmore Vale before stopping in St Johns Lane. Four men were arrested nearby at 8.45pm.

"No one was injured in the collisions.

"David Robinson, 28, of Filton, is due before Bristol Magistrates' Court on Monday (September 23) charged with dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, failing to stop for police and driving with no insurance.

"Three other men, aged 22, 23 and 25, have been released under investigation.
