Four Irish stars added to Bellator Dublin card as Peter Queally, Charlie Ward, Ciaran Clarke and Darragh Kelly all to fight

Irish quartet Peter Queally, Charlie Ward, Ciaran Clarke and Darragh Kelly will all fight at the 3Arena in September when Bellator returns to Dublin.

In the welterweight division, hometown favourite Queally (13-8-1) returns to battle against Italy’s Daniele Miceli (10-5), while undefeated Drogheda native Clarke (7-0) will put his pristine record on the line as he faces Poland’s Przemysław Górny (5-3) at 145 pounds.

Joining the SGB Irelands stars, will be rising talent Kelly (3-0) who faces off against Jelle Zeegers (2-2), while MMA veterans match up in an encounter which sees Ward (10-6) take on Gregory Babene (22-11).

Queally will want to leverage the might of the Irish support to help him replicate his past success inside the cage which saw him compete for the vacated lightweight world title. Standing in his way is Bellator newcomer Miceli who will be aiming to shine on his promotional debut and silence the partisan crowd at the 3Arena.

Submission specialist Clarke has continued to dazzle with his thrilling performances and has staked his position as one of the hottest prospects on the Bellator roster. He is currently riding a formidable seven-fight win streak and has yet to taste defeat. Clarke enters the fight on the back of a unanimous decision win over Leonardo Sinis at BELLATOR 291, although another triumph will not come easy as debutant Górny comes into the bout undefeated in three fights and will look to make a mark in the division and disrupt Clarke’s ascent into the official Bellator rankings.

Nicknamed the “Moville Mauler,” SBG Ireland’s rising star Kelly will be hoping to maul his next opponent after a dominant ground-and-pound victory against Dorval Jordan in Dublin earlier this year. His challenger will be eager to assert himself in the division on his promotional debut.

Meanwhile, Irish veteran Ward continues to prove age is just a number as he enters the cage in search of success after suffering close back-to-back defeats against England's No. 1 middleweight challenger Fabian Edwards and Mike Shipman. Against Ward, fellow experienced competitor Babene will look to derail the Irishman who is renowned for his knockout threat. The Frenchman will look to win his eighth straight fight and solidify himself in the 185-pound division in a contest which is certain to catch the eyes of fight fans.

The event on September 23 is headlined by the middleweight championship bout between Johnny Eblen and Fabian Edwards, with the preliminary card kicking off at 4pm before the televised part of the card kicks off at 9pm.

Tickets for BELLATOR 299: Eblen vs. Edwards are on sale now at Bellator.com and Ticketmaster.ie.
