FOUR people have been taken to hospital following a crash involving an allegedly 'stolen' car and an unmarked police vehicle.
Police were called to a report of a car theft on Gilmour Street, Eaglesham at around 6.35am this morning.
The car was later involved in a crash with an unmarked police vehicle in the Canniesburn Toll area of Bearsden.
It is understood the car was not being pursued at the time.
Three men, aged 32, 29 and 20, and a police officer were taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
Their injuries are non-life-threatening. The three men have been arrested in connection with the incident. An investigation is underway.
The Glasgow Times previously reported all approaches to Canniesburn Toll Roundabout in Bearsden were closed by police due to the incident.
The roads remain closed while enquiries are carried out.
The roads affected are:
- Drymen Road at Norwood Park
- MacFarland Road and Moore Drive
- Maryhill Road at the approach and exit from the roundabout
- The exit from Switchback Road to Drymen Road
- The exit onto Switchback Road from the roundabout
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.35am on Saturday, July 1, 2023, we were called to a report of the theft of a car in Gilmour Street, Eaglesham.
"The car was later involved in a crash with an unmarked police vehicle in the Canniesburn Toll area of Bearsden, Glasgow.
"Three men, aged 32, 29 and 20, and a police officer were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.
"The three men have been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.
"The roads surrounding the Canniesburn Toll Roundabout remain closed for enquiries to be carried out."
