Four held for placing bets on IPL matches in Kanpur

KANPUR: The police have arrested four persons involved in betting on IPL cricket matches in Naubasta area of the City on Tuesday evening.

The police have recovered Rs 1,35,400 lakh in cash, besides other equipment from the accused.

The communique issued by Commissionerate police stated that Dhirendra Singh, Sandeep Singh, Shyam Soni and Rohit Dubey, who were placing bets in IPL matches, were nabbed by the police team from a hideout in Khadepur pocket of Naubasta.

“The raiding team had also recovered Rs 1,35,400 lakh in cash, besides eight mobile phones, diaries and registers, from their possession. The arrested people said that they place bets on IPL cricket through an internet link bigexch9.com,” stated release further and added, “Police are now zeroing in on other aides of the accused to make their arrest possible.”
