JAIPUR: Udaipur police on Thursday arrested four persons for allegedly threatening a youth over an alleged social media post in support of Nupur Sharma. Pratap Nagar police station identified the four as Abdul, Gufran, Shahid and Shoeb. Police said an FIR was registered by the victim wherein he alleged that he was receiving threats on Instagram and WhatsApp.
Udaipur police then constituted a special team to track down the suspects and arrested the four. “There were a lot of youths who were intimidating people on social media groups around the time when the row first began,” said an official.
Police said the victim was scared for his life, especially after the murder of Kanhaiya Lal. An officer said, “The victim’s father filed an FIR wherein he told police that his son was receiving threats on different social media accounts.
