"I'm not quite out of the woods as yet but just want to give a massive big up to our #NHS We are more than fortunate to have such a service! Thank you!!"

A second added: "I hope your feeling okay Tony luv. I'm glad your in hospital getting the treatment you need.

"I'm sure you will be well looked after. You'll be back doing everything you love soon enough. In the meantime take it easy and eat your bodyweight in grapes! [sic]."

"Hey Tony, so relieved to hear from you. You had us all going for a moment when the ambulance took you to hospital - you seemed so calm though," another said.

"Take your time, take it easy and just get yourself better - take care and get well soon. Thank goodness for the #NHS.

"Take care Tony, do as you’re told and get well soon. You’ll be in the system now so they can properly look after you," tweeted a another fan.

Tony previously revealed that after being axed from the chart-topping band, he spent three years getting drunk.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News in 2019, he recalled meeting rockstar Liam Gallagher for the first time in 20 years after being invited to the same party.

"We were all drunk and I just thought f*** it, I'll take the bull by the horns," he said.

Tony added: "I basically walked straight in and said to someone 'where's Liam?' Marched straight up to him and said 'oi'."

Discussing life after the band Tony explained: "I lived in the States, Tenerife.

"Really I got drunk for three whole years."

He continued: "If you're asking when I got back to normality... maybe I'm not normal. You're reminded every single f***ing day of Oasis.

"On the radio, one of your mates, someone you work with. I'll never get away from being the original Oasis drummer and that's something I've got to take on the chin."
