Fans have been speculating about the Forza Horizon 6 release date and setting for months. Many believed that the game would launch by the end of 2025, while others believed that the game had been abandoned by Turn 10 Studios. A lot of the fans were certain that the game would be set in Japan, while others were advocating for China, Germany, and other countries.
Well, the Tokyo Games Show has put a stop to all the speculation. Forza Horizon 6 has officially been announced by Microsoft, and it turns out that all the leaks were correct.
Forza Horizon 6 Release Date Confirmed At Tokyo Game Show 2025

According to the reveal trailer, Forza Horizon 6 is set to be released in 2026, with the exact date not announced. If we speculate a bit more and look at past trends, the data support the September-November timeframe, as this is when all the past Forza Games were launched.
- Forza Horizon – October 2012 (Announced May 2012)
- Forza Horizon 2 – September 2014 (Announced May 2014)
- Forza Horizon 3 – September 2016 (Announced June 2016)
- Forza Horizon 4 – September 2018 (Announced June 2018)
- Forza Horizon 5 – November 2021 (Announced June 2021)
Coming to the location, the game will be set in Japan (finally). Fans have been begging Turn 10 for a Japan setting ever since the original Forza Horizon launched. It looks like those fan requests weren’t going under the radar, as Xbox exec Matt Booty acknowledged them on stage.
“This has been the most-requested location since the very first game and we can’t wait to share more next year.”
While a lot of this information still doesn’t feel real, it is, and it’s happening. The Forza Festival is finally heading to Japan.
Since the game is set in the land of the rising sun, you can expect to see the Tokyo street racing and drifting scene, which is going to be a delight. The game should also feature a ton of JDM vehicles to match the setting. Other than Tokyo, FH6 is also going to feature the infamous Mount Fuji, Japan’s rural environment, and the series’ usual seasonal changes, as evidenced from the trailer.
Will Forza Horizon 6 Be On PS5?

With the release date and setting confirmed, the next big question is, will Forza Horizon 6 be on PlayStation 5? Well, we have some good news for the blue team. The answer is yes. Since Forza is technically an Xbox exclusive, it’ll first be launched for the Xbox Series S|X consoles, as well as PC. However, Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios are working to bring the game to PS5 “post-launch”.
While the PS users won’t be getting the game on day 1, this is still amazing news, as they’re getting a major Xbox exclusive to their platform. If we look at it in relative terms, FH is Xbox’s God of War, so for it to be released on the PlayStation at all is huge. That said, this was expected, since the release of Forza Horizon 5 on the PS5 was to give the team in blue a taste of the Horizon world.
The only downside is that the PS users will have to buy the game for full price, while Xbox users will be able to play it using the Xbox Game Pass. Still, that’s just a small price to pay to experience Japan’s beauty in a Toyota Supra.
