Since last year, Destiny 2 has introduced multiple Void bows to the sandbox, so that you don’t have to rely solely on Le Monarque anymore. One of the Void bows is the Fortunate Star from the Solstice event, and it is a fantastic option if you never got a good Anamnesis from Heresy.
The 2025 version of the Fortunate Star Void bow is a Precision Frame, as opposed to the Lightweight Frame from 2024. This puts it at 612ms base draw time compared to 580ms. The new version comes with a whole range of new perks, making the trade-off very well worth it.

The 2025 version of this weapon can roll Dragonfly in the third column, which creates elemental explosions on precision kills. This perk makes Fortunate Star an add-clear powerhouse when paired with Destabilizing Rounds in the fourth column. Destabilizing Rounds applies volatile to nearby enemies when killing a target and grants the weapon Volatile Rounds for 4.5 seconds, making things go boom even louder.
Double AoE perks may feel like overkill. In that case, there’s also Demoralize in the fourth column, which works similarly to Destabilizing Rounds, but applies weaken instead of volatile. Weakened enemies take more damage and are slowed. At the same time, you can replace Dragonfly with Repulsor Brace to get an eight-second void overshield when killing a void-debuffed target (in this case, it’s either weakened or volatile enemies).
In PvP, a bow is a niche but powerful choice. If you want a bow, there’s always Le Monarque, but Fortunate Star also has some decent perks to try out. Archer’s Tempo reduces the draw time by 25 percent when landing a precision hit, reducing the time-to-kill from 1.2 seconds to 1.07 seconds.
In the fourth column, there are several options. Eye of the Storm is good for dueling thanks to increased accuracy. Archer’s Gambit can work when paired with a hip-fire Exotic, like Radiant Dance Machines. And Explosive Head can generate some flinch for enemy players when landing a hit.
How to get Fortunate Star in Destiny 2
Fortunate Star is available during the Solstice event in Destiny 2. In 2025, the main way of getting Solstice gear is by playing Portal activities that have a Distorted Solstice Engram as a bonus reward.
Depending on your Power level, you can easily get multiple Tier 4 and even Tier 5 versions of this weapon. While you’re farming Fortunate Star, keep an eye out for two new weapons this year: Festival Flight and Yeartide Apex.
