Christian Eriksen has revealed he is "fine" as he addressed fans following the cardiac arrest he suffered in Denmark's Euro 2020 opener against Finland on Saturday afternoon.
Just before half-time of the match in Copenhagen, Eriksen worryingly collapsed to the ground, which was later confirmed to be a cardiac arrest by the team's doctor.
"He was gone. We did cardiac resuscitation, it was a cardiac arrest," Morten Boesen said.
"How close were we to losing him? I don't know, but we got him back after one defib [defibrillation] so that's quite fast.
"The examinations that have been done so far look fine. We don't have an explanation to why it happened."
Now, former Tottenham star Eriksen has sent an encouraging message to the footballing world - after it came to a standstill following the horrific incident.
Denmark football team's tweeted a picture of the Inter Milan midfielder holding his thumb up while laying in a hospital bed, with a message typed out beside it.

It read: "Hello everyone, big thanks for your sweet and amazing greetings and messages from all around the world. It means a lot to me and my family.
"I'm fine - under the circumstances. I still have to go through some examinations at the hospital, but I feel okay.
"Now, I will cheer on the boys on the Denmark team in the next few matches.
"Play for all of Denmark. Best, Christian."
Despite the match being temporarily postponed for obvious reasons, the football did get back underway, but the Danes lost 1-0 to Finland.
Eriksen's country are next in action on Thursday evening as they take on group favourites Belgium.
