Former Tottenham star Christian Eriksen fires warning to Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte

Former Tottenham star Christian Eriksen has fired a warning to Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte over his lack of game time.

Eriksen left Spurs in January to join the Italian club for a reported fee of around £17million.

However, it is not all going quite to plan for the Denmark star, who has started only one game so far this season under former Chelsea chief Conte.

The 28-year-old was left on the bench for the recent Serie A match against Lazio, before heading off on international duty.

"I don't want to sit the bench for the whole season," Eriksen said in a press conference on Friday ahead of Denmark's Nations League fixture in Iceland.

"I hope this isn't the coach's or the club's intention. It is going to be a busy season, lot of games in program, I expect to play.

"It's never nice to sit the bench and one tends to be less patient as his experience grows."

Eriksen started Inter's opening game of the season against Fiorentina but was a substitute in the next two matches.

"There are many expectations on me, people thought I'd do the difference in every game, but it didn't happen," he added.

"That's why they are looking at me with different eyes.

"I've had highs and lows after the lockdown. I had a great start with Inter after I arrived and now I am living in a new situation."
