Former Super Bowl Champ Rips Packers for Aaron Rodgers Trade: ’Nobody Will Fear You’

The Packers are officially entering the Jordan Love era, as Green Bay finally agreed to a reported trade sending Aaron Rodgers to the Jets. Love, who is entering his fourth season, will take over as a starting quarterback for the first time in his career.

The process is a big boost of confidence for Love, as the team clearly believes he is ready to take over. Yet, how Love will perform remains to be seen, and one former player isn’t sold on the quarterback being able to properly replace Rodgers.

Richard Sherman said on his podcast that Packers’ rivals are happy that Rodgers is out in favor of Love.

“I guarantee you every NFL North team is excited to see Jordan Love,” he said. “I guarantee it Green Bay Packers, nobody will fear you going forward.”

While Rodgers was with the Packers, he dominated the rest of the division with a 59-24-1 record since 2008.

Sherman further criticized how Green Bay handled Rodgers over the last few years, which started with taking Love in the 2020 NFL draft.

“Hate me all you want, but understand, you had something great for a long time, you didn’t appreciate him on his way out,” Sherman said.

Between Rodgers and Brett Favre, the Packers have had a Hall of Fame quarterback at the helm since 1992. Green Bay is betting that Love can come close to that level of play, but Sherman is one of many who seem skeptical.
