Former Rangers boss Graeme Murty is in line for a return to football management, according to a report.
The former Scotland international departed his role as Head of Elite Academy Development at the Ibrox club in November last year - but he could be set for a return to the game south of the border.
Daily Mail North-East football correspondent Craig Hope reports that the 47-year-old is in discussions over the Sunderland Under-21s manager post. He wrote on Twitter: "Understand Graeme Murty, the former Rangers manager, is in talks to take over as Sunderland Under-21s boss."

The Black Cats are back in England's second tier following promotion last season and they will be looking for a quick-fire return to the English Premier League.
Murty spent five years at Rangers, including stepping up and taking on first-team responsibilities at the request of the Ibrox board. He played a key role in the development of the Light Blues' academy players and practices.
Speaking at the time of his departure, Sporting Director Ross Wilson said: “Graeme is someone who has significantly contributed to the development of our Academy in recent times and for that I extend my personal thanks to him.
"As a club we also place on record our gratitude for Graeme’s support around our first-team a few years ago.
“Although it was before my time at the club I am aware of the dedication he showed to Rangers in a trying moment. We all wish Graeme and his family well for the next chapter in his coaching career.
"From our perspective, the role of Head of Elite Academy Development is integral to the on-going evolution and development of our academy that we have been working through and we have a clear plan for who and what will follow and we are excited about that.”
