Former Notts County goalkeeper seals permanent Millwall move

Former Notts County goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski has sealed a permanent move to Championship Millwall from Ipswich Town.

The Polish stopper had been on loan at the New Den from the League One club.

But boss Gary Rowett has been impressed enough to make the deal permanent with the goalkeeper moving for an undisclosed fee.

Bialkowski was a huge favourite at Meadow Lane having joined the club from Southampton in 2012.

He went on to make more than 90 league and cup appearances and starred in their Great Escape of 2014 when Notts beat the drop to League Two under Shaun Derry against all the odds.

He then moved to Ipswich in the following summer with Bialkowski moving for an undisclosed sum.

Bialkowski played more than 160 league games for Ipswich and his performances had seen him linked with a return to the Championship.

Millwall swooped to sign him on a season-long loan  in June and has so far played 30 games this season.

With Rowett's side still hopeful of making the playoffs, and with Bialkowski producing some excellent performances, Millwall offered him a permanent deal.

But the length of his contract has not been disclosed.

Speaking about his move, he said: "I came here to prove myself again.

"It was always in my mind to do well.

"I am enjoying myself and playing every week.

"I enjoy training and that's the reason why I am staying here."
