Former Motherwell captain Peter Hartley has urged fans to get behind returning striker Jake Hastie.
Hartley, who left Motherwell this summer after failing to agree a new deal, says getting behind the hit man can bring the best out of him, Tweeting 'A rising tide raises all ships'.
The 21-year-old today put pen to paper on a one-year loan deal from Rangers, but the move hasn't been greeted well by all supporters of the Fir Park club.
Some feel that Hastie 'turned his back' on Motherwell when Rangers came calling.
However, Hartley said it's a move that any player would make, and asked fans to get right behind him and the team this season.

In a social media post, Hartley said: "If you have an opportunity to secure your family's future would you take it - 99.99 per cent would say 'yes'.
"So, please Motherwell FC fans and supporters, get behind Jake Hastie this season! The man can make a real difference.
"Top class signing.
"A RISING TIDE RAISES ALL SHIPS."
The Tweet has been liked by some of Motherwell's players, including captain Declan Gallagher.
