Former Man City defender slams Liverpool FC's Jordan Henderson as "ugly and disrespectful"

Former Man City defender Stefan Savic has slammed Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson as "ugly and disrespectful" in the aftermath of England's 5-1 victory over Montenegro.

It was another impressive display from England who had to come from a goal down to claim the comprehensive victory, but the result was marred by racist abuse aimed at England players from sections of the Montenegro supporters.

Henderson came on to earn his 50th cap and set up Raheem Sterling for the fifth goal of the game, after which Sterling pulled out his ears to the Montenegro fans in reference to the abuse and prompting a barrage of boos from them.

The abuse clearly angered some England players, and Rose and Henderson both picked up bookings late on after some feisty challenges.

Now the chaotic fall-out has continued as Montenegro skipper Savic, who represented City between 2011-12, has lambasted Henderson for his 'arrogant' behaviour.

“We all know they are a much bigger team than us but sometimes I feel very bad to be playing the same sport as some players,” said the 28-year-old.

Raheem Sterling calls for stadium ban following latest racist abuse incident

“Jordan Henderson, for example, sarcastically told our player after one normal clash he would give him a jersey after the match.

“It is ugly and disrespectful. I told him he was good enough not to act like that.

“We are proud and I’d rather play with this team and concede five goals and not with some arrogant players from England.”
