Former Liverpool team mate urges Rhian Brewster to join Swansea City

Swansea City youngster Yan Dhanda admits he's hoping that former Liverpool team mate and close friend Rhian Brewster will soon join him at SA1.

Brewster has been heavily linked with a move to the Liberty Stadium this month, particularly in light of Bournemouth's decision to recall striker Sam Surridge.

WalesOnline reported on Friday that the Liverpool starlet was still assessing his options ahead of a loan away from Anfield, with Leeds United, Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday all credited with an interest.

Boss Steve Cooper has since insisted there has been "no update" on the situation, but Dhanda admits he's hoping to be reunited with the 19-year old having played with him and Trent Alexander-Arnold for the Reds at youth level.

Speaking ahead of the Swans' 5-1 mauling at QPR on Sunday, Dhanda told Dai Sport : “I have spoken to Rhian a few times.

“I would love him to come here. But it’s completely up to him what he wants to do. I’ll still be friends with him, either way.

“I’m sure he’d play lots of games here. Here’s an amazing player and if he came I’d be buzzing for him because he’s one of my close friends."

Brewster himself came on as a second-half substitute in Liverpool's 1-0 win over Merseyside rivals Everton in the FA Cup third round on Sunday evening, replacing Harvey Elliott after 79 minutes.
