Former Leeds United star Vinnie Jones is set to compete in this year’s Celebrity X Factor.
The 54-year-old hardman will be taking part in a new format of Simon Cowell’s ITV programme.
After retiring, Jones became a Hollywood actor with starring roles in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch.
Now, he’s giving singing a try with the new X Factor show. This is one of two new formats being introduced by Cowell.
There will be Celebrity X Factor and a new champions edition which will see former winners compete.
As well as playing for Leeds United, Jones also appeared for Wimbledon, Sheffield United and Chelsea amongst others.
Jones returned to X Factor rehearsals last week . She died, earlier this month, following a battle with cancer.
According to The Sun, Jones surprised producers by returning to the X Factor.
A source told the publication: "Vinnie had agreed to be part of the show some time ago but that was before he went through the tragedy of losing his wife.
"Obviously most of the team expected a phone call saying he wouldn’t be involved any more.
“But instead he came along and made it clear he wants to throw himself straight into this project."
Other stars being rumoured for Celebrity X Factor include Gemma Collins, former Eastender Jonny Labey, John Barrowman and stars from Love Island.
The show is due to air this autumn.
