Former Leeds United boss eyeing vacant Stoke City managerial position

Former Leeds United head coach Uwe Rosler has been linked with the vacant managerial position at Stoke City.

The Potters dispensed of the services of Nathan Jones last week, with the side currently sitting bottom of the table, having won just eight points after 15 matches.

According to our sister site StoneonTrentLive former Whites boss Uwe Rosler is said to be keen on a return to English football.

Rosler is currently plying his trade at Swedish side Malmo, who he joined in the summer of 2018 and guided to a second place finish last season.

The German joined Leeds in May 2015, appointed by firebrand former owner Massimo Cellino, but would only take charge of 12 matches, with Cellino sacking him before October was out that year.

Rosler has also had stints in the dugout at Brentford, Wigan and Fleetwood in English football following a playing career that was best known for a four-year spell at Manchester City in the 1990s.

Preston North End boss Alex Neil has also been strongly linked with the post, while former Potters boss Tony Pulis is the current favourite with the bookmakers.
