Former justice minister pleads guilty to drugs charges

  • Former MP Crispin Blunt has pleaded guilty to four drug possession charges at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
  • The 65-year-old admitted to possessing class A drugs, specifically methamphetamine and methylamphetamine (crystal meth), and class B drugs, including cannabis and GBL (a sedative).
  • The drugs were discovered during a police raid on his home in Horley, Surrey, in October 2023.
  • Blunt, who represented Reigate as a Conservative MP from 1997, lost the party whip following his arrest.
  • The raid was conducted as part of an investigation into rape allegations, for which no further action was taken due to insufficient evidence.
