Former ITV Corrie star Charlie de Melo sports new look after leaving soap at The Soap Awards

Coronation Street fans were gutted when Imran Habeeb recently met a tragic end in the ITV soap. The solictor character secretly fathered a baby boy with Abi Webster before playing dirty to make sure he got custody of his son.

As he was preparing to confess to framing Abi as being back on drugs, he died after being involved in a horror car crash alongside new wife Toyah. Imran was a hero as he pulled Toyah from the wreckage but he suddenly collapsed from a cardiac arrest on the scene as his wife was loaded into an ambulance.

And there was a shock as, through flashbacks, Imran was seen confessing the truth to a devastated Toyah as she drove them home. She was seen telling him she hated him before the camera cut to the vehicle ploughing into a building covered with scaffolding.

After being released on bail, Toyah was seen hiding out in flat sobbing after telling her sister Leanne Battersby she was going to stay with a cousin for a few days. After bowing out of Corrie after nearly five years, actor Charlie de Melo who played Imran marked the end of his character by shaving off his beard.

And he showcased his clean-shaven look on the red carpet at the British Soap Awards as he was reunited with Georgia Taylor who plays Toyah. Charlie looked dapper in a three-piece suit and Georgia dazzled in an emerald green gown.

Charlie was complimented on the new look after sharing it on social media. "Felt chatty, will delete later," he wrote alongside a snap which was soon being flooded with comments.

@littlevienna said: "Look at you, all beardless!" @miss1katy wrote: "Wow beard completely gone!!" @welshjaci commented: "OMG as if it were possible for you to be even MORE handsome, here you go! Love it!" And @LESLEYJ31420383 shared: "Love the loss of your beard."

Charlie shared a goodbye message with Corrie fans on Instagram with photo of himself with his back to the camera, walking down a ginnel on the Salford-based set with Imran's suit and the actor's ITV pass in the bin. A second picture showed the original snap had been altered to look like a comic book page.
