Former Falcon Ben Garland shares classy message as he leaves Atlanta

Two months ago, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the Falcons would allow guard Ben Garland to become a free agent. Garland has been with the team since the 2016 season and has served well on both sides of the line of scrimmage, in addition to being a locker room leader.

However, the team felt it was time to totally overhaul the position. Since the Garland news broke, the Falcons have also let veteran left guard Andy Levitre walk and have signed James Carpenter, Jamon Brown and Adam Gettis in free agency. Today, Garland is leaving Atlanta, but not before he shared a classy message for the city, the community and his coaches.

Garland is no star but he could still be a valuable backup for another team. He will likely get picked up by somebody before the regular season starts.
