Former Dolphin Ndamukong Suh set to sign with Buccaneers

Life has been a little different for Ndamukong Suh over the last year. The star defensive lineman has been bounced around the league — he started the 2018 calendar year in Miami before the team cut him halfway through a monster 6-year contract. Suh landed on his feet just fine, playing the 2018 season in Los Angeles and nearly winning a Super Bowl with the Rams.

But now? Suh’s deal with the Rams was for one year — and the Rams had to wrap up their cash in paying Aaron Donald. So Suh spent another spring in free agency and is now on the move. Again.

Suh’s talents are coming back east — he’s set to play the 2019 season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccaneers, who cut defensive tackle Gerald McCoy to create space for the signing, are an interesting landing spot for Suh. Even for Dolphins fans.

Miami and Tampa Bay are scheduled to face off this summer during the preseason, with rumors swirling that the two may even host joint practices. If that’s the case, Suh will get a chance to scrap against the team that cut him to kickstart his recent string of transitions. Given Suh’s past and reputation as someone who will push the limit, odds are we’ll see Suh in some kind of scrum with someone from Miami before the week of practice is out — provided things materialize and the teams get together.
