Former Chelsea star mocks Thomas Tuchel's side with Man City stat

A former Chelsea star has mocked Thomas Tuchel's side with a Manchester City stat after his former club became Champions of the World yesterday evening.

The London team defeated Brazilian side Palmeiras 2-1 in the FIFA Club World Cup Final thanks to a Kai Havertz penalty late in extra-time.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola's City increased their advantage at the top of the Premier League table with a comfortable 4-0 triumph against Norwich City.

Raheem Sterling grabbed a hat-trick at Carrow Road as Manchester City moved 12 points clear of Liverpool who have two games in hand over them.

Craig Burley, who played 119 games for the Blues, was less than impressed with Chelsea's accomplishment and took to Twitter to vent his dissatisfaction.

The now ESPN pundit said: "Whilst Chelsea were winning that plastic cup and it was lapped up like a World Cup win, Man City were racking up a sixteen point gap on them, in a competition that really matters.

"Let that sink in."

Many Chelsea fans were bemused by their former players comments with one responding: "Can't believe you of all people would come up with that."

City are next in action in the Champions League where they travel to Sporting in the Round of 16.
