Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte put clubs on alert after update on Inter Milan future

Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is unsure whether he will be in charge at Inter Milan next season following their Europa League final defeat.

Inter were beaten 3-2 in a thrilling European final by Sevilla and the former Chelsea manager has revealed his uncertainty over his position at the San Siro.

Conte left the Blues in July 2018 after two seasons in charge at Stamford Bridge - including an FA Cup and Premier League triumph with the club.

After almost a year away from football, the charismatic Italian boss returned to the sport after being appointed as Inter manager.

Despite running Juventus really close in Serie A, one point to be precise, and reaching a Europa League final, Conte admitted after the game that he wasn’t sure whether he’ll be Inter manager next season.

Conte told Sky Sport Italia: “We’re going to meet next week with the club and we’ll decide about my future. I’m not sure that I’ll be the Inter manager next season, we’ll decide together. Inter will plan the future with or without me.”

The ex-Blues boss launched a brutal attack at the club’s directors earlier this month after the Serie A season ended.

“I don’t think the work of the players has been recognised and I don’t think my work has been recognised,” the Italian said. “We all received very little protection from the club, absolutely zero.

“I don’t like it when people jump on the bandwagon - they have to be there in the good times as well as the bad and here at Inter it wasn’t like that, I’m sorry to say.

“We have to grow and improve in all areas, including off the field, and a big club should protect its players more.”
