Former Bristol Rovers goalkeeper to star in new reality TV show featuring Lindsay Lohan

'Where are they now?’ features regarding former Bristol Rovers players tend to attract interest for the occasionally obscure and geographically-varied clubs those who have previously worn blue and white have ended up representing.

Or there is simply an intrigue as to where one-time favourites and beloved ex-Gas stars have ended up post-football, often split between coaching, property development and running drinking establishments.

Alexis Andre Jnr probably doesn’t quite fit the description of a former "favourite", given he made just one competitive appearance for the club, but the goalkeeper can probably lay claim to being the first ex-Rovers player to appear on a reality TV show featuring Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan.

Based on the trailer released this week (which you can watch above), Andre will be one of the contestants who will appear in Amazon Prime’s forthcoming dating series ‘Lovestruck High’, which throws singletons together inside a fictional US-style high school.

The show, which premieres on May 18, will be voiced by Lohan, presumably due to her performance in the 2004 film Mean Girls, with the winner claiming a $100,000 (£76,000) prize at the end.

For the more social media-minded among the Gas support, Andre’s presence in such a programme perhaps shouldn’t come as that much of a surprise given his considerable presence on TikTok (3.8m followers) and Instagram (534,000 followers), along with his work as a part-time model and rumours of an imminent appearance on Love Island.

The 24-year-old was signed by Rovers in July 2017 and experienced loan spells at Tiverton Town, Paulton Rovers, Yate Town, Truro City and Salisbury City after making his debut the same year as a second-half replacement in a 2-1 win over Walsall after Sam Slocombe had been sent off.

After the French-born stopper was granted new contracts in 2019 and 2020 under Graham Coughlan and then Ben Garner, he was released last summer before signing for Dover Athletic in the National League, where he has served as the No2 goalkeeper for the now-relegated side.
