- Joshua Moore , a 34-year-old former boxer, has been sentenced to five years and nine months in prison for the manslaughter of 62-year-old James McKeown in Beaumont Leys, Leicestershire.
- The incident occurred on April 6 when Moore, riding a quad bike "too fast" through a park, punched Mr McKeown in the face, causing him to fall and sustain a fatal head injury.
- After the attack, Moore placed Mr McKeown in the recovery position before fleeing the scene, later returning to confess to police, stating, "I hit him… I slapped him."
- The court heard that Moore, who had a history of convictions including an eight-year jail term for a violent burglary, admitted manslaughter on July 2, with the judge noting his tendency to be "far too quick with your fists."
- Mr McKeown's partner, Lesley Wakefield, described him as a "gentle, kind man" whose killing had "shattered our family," while Moore's defence stated he was "truly sorry" for his actions.
