Former Bond actor's family back new writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge for success

New Bond 25 writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge has got a licence to thrill, according to Sir Roger Moore’s family.

The 34-year-old – who also penned the first series of Killing Eve – has taken on the tough task of modernising the script for the highly anticipated upcoming blockbuster No Time to Die.

Roger was one of the most memorable 007s, taking on the role between 1973 and 1985. He died in 2017.

And Roger’s son Geoffrey tells me: “Killing Eve is terrific. She will most definitely be a great addition to the film.”

Phoebe was hired by director Barbara Broccoli, and Geoffrey adds: “She has got such a good nose for these things. She knows it so well.

“No one can talk her out of everything and she has proved to be right every time. My dad was so supportive to Barbara and her choice and she always got it right. He was a fan of Daniel Craig who is a great reflection of our times.

“They have done such a good job to keep the franchise going.”

Roger’s family are releasing a new single U.N.I (You & I) in his memory to raise money for UNICEF.

It stars over 50 global celebrities including Joanna Lumley, David Walliams , Will Poulter and Dame Joan Collins.

And Geoffrey, 53, hopes the record could become a Bond theme tune. He adds: “It would be great if they played it in the film.” Watch this space...
