Former Bears returner Devin Hester announced his retirement from the NFL on Tuesday.
"Hopefully next time I see y'all it'll be in Canton," Hester wrote in a statement he tweeted out.
Hester is the all-time punt-return touchdowns leader with 14. He ran back 13 of those with the Bears from 2006-13, one of the most electrifying players in franchise history. He also played two seasons for the Falcons and spent time in 2016 with the Ravens and Seahawks.
In his retirement statement, Hester thanked Bears fans.
"You brought me in and made a Florida boy feel at home in the Midwest from Day 1," he wrote. "I grew into a man, built a family, and became who I am today in the city of Chicago."
