Just in time for IFA 2025, has announced a new entry in its Swift lineup that takes direct aim at Apple's MacBook Air, bringing one key feature we've all been looking for — an OLED display.
The Acer Swift Air 16 Copilot+ laptop has been revealed, equipped with AMD Ryzen AI 300 series CPUs, AMD Radeon graphics and an impressive 16-inch WQXGA+ (2880 x 1800) AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Plus, it comes in at an ultra-light 2.18 pounds, less than the latest 15-inch M4 MacBook Air (3.3 pounds).
With its specs, the Swift Air 16 is here to take on the best Windows laptops and is a substantial upgrade over last year's Swift lineup, including the Acer Swift 14 AI. In fact, it's even lighter than that!
Acer's Swift Air 16 is set to be available in Europe starting this November, with prices starting at €999. While U.S. pricing and exact release dates have yet to be decided, it looks to be on par (if not cheaper) than its 15-inch MacBook Air rival. Of course, we won't know until we test the laptop out ourselves, but in the meantime, let's dive into it.

Acer Swift Air 16: What you need to know
Right off the bat, the Acer Swift Air 16 stands out with its 16-inch, 1800p AMOLED display. Sporting a 120Hz refresh rate and 16:10 aspect ratio, too, this is a screen that will shine when it comes to productivity and even some light gaming. We've been wanting an OLED display on a MacBook Air for a while, and Acer has beat it to the punch with its own Air.
Two display configurations will be available, with the other being a 16-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200) IPS display with a 60Hz refresh rate. This model is thinner and lighter than the OLED model, too, but not by a huge margin.
Now, we've tested other ultraportable Windows laptops before, including the MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo, but the Swift Air 16 comes in at an ultra-light 2.18 pounds and slim 0.63 inches for the IPS display model. Even the OLED model comes in at 2.43 pounds and a thin 0.65 inches. It may not be as thin as the 15-inch MacBook Air at 0.4 inches, but Apple's laptop is about a pound heavier at 3.3 pounds.
Unlike the Swift 14 AI, the Swift Air 16 comes in a complete AMD configuration. Expect an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 CPU and AMD Radeon 860M integrated graphics, which should offer speedy performance for work and some light photo and video editing. That's especially true with up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM and 1TB SSD.
Otherwise, it will come with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, along with two USB-C ports, a USB-A 3.2 port, a 3.5mm audio jack and (disappointingly) an HDMI 1.4 output. Plus, there's a 2MP FHD (1080p) camera with a privacy shutter.
Being a Copilot+ PC, the Swift Air 16 also comes packed with the latest AI features for Windows 11, including Click to Do, Improved Windows Search and the updated Windows Recall (if you're willing to try it).
Finally, the Acer Swift Air 16 comes in a selection of four colors, including Light Silver, Fresh Blue, Steel Gray and a simple white — not too unlike Apple's MacBook Air lineup, it appears.
It has all the makings of being a 16-inch laptop worth checking out, but there's still testing to be done once we get our hands on it.
