A forensics team have been carrying out investigations at a house following a three-year-old boy's death in County Durham.
The boy tragically died after a reported medical incident on Saturday afternoon (November 5) at a home in Ushaw Moor.
On Friday, a Durham Constabulary forensics team were seen going in and out of a property on Bracken Court as the Crime Scene Investigation Unit continued their investigation into the boy's death.
Durham Constabulary yesterday (November 10) confirmed that there will be an increased police presence in the Ushaw Moor area over the coming days while investigations continue.
Multiple police vans were stationed outside the property with personnel wearing protective clothing also seen heading into the property itself.
Police did confirm that multi-agency investigation is now underway as emergency services try to establish the circumstances around the boy's death.
A spokesman for Durham Constabulary said: “On Saturday, Durham Constabulary supported the North East Ambulance Service in attending a medical incident in Ushaw Moor. The incident involved a three-year-old boy, who sadly died later.
“We are involved in a multi-agency investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the child and the public will notice an increased police presence in the area over the coming days while enquiries are conducted”.
Durham Constabulary were contacted today (November 11) for further comment but declined to issue a further statement.
