Forensics officers comb house as two arrested

Two people were arrested on suspicion of assault as forensics officers continued to comb a Wirral house.

Police have maintained a presence at the Leasowe property since Friday, with bins being checked by officers.

Two police cars could be seen on Franklin Road on Saturday afternoon, including a scientific support vehicle.

The road was not closed to traffic while inquiries were being carried out.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "Detectives have arrested a 35-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman from Leasowe on suspicion of assault.

"They have been interviewed and conditionally bailed pending further enquiries.

"A CSI examination continues at the address and the scene will be closed on completion of the forensic enquiries."
