It’s been 50 years since the Kips Bay Decorator Show House was first founded to fund the after-school and enrichment programs of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club. What started as a philanthropic design takeover has since become one of the most influential events in interiors – beginning in New York, then expanding to Palm Beach, and more recently, Dallas.
Now, half a century later, the Show House tradition returns to its original cobblestone stomping grounds: a six-story Greenwich Village townhouse with all the right bones – 13-foot ceilings, seven wood-burning fireplaces, eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a private garden, and even an original Otis elevator. Located at 20 West 12th Street, the now-posh address still hums with the charm of the neighborhood's bohemian, artist-driven past.
What this latest vanguard of 21 interior designers will dream up for the storied Gold Coast manse is, of course, half the thrill. Doors open September 30 – with three weeks to take it all in.

Ben Pentreath Studio
Spend five minutes inside one of Ben Pentreath’s richly layered interiors and it’s clear: this is someone who knows his art history. The award-winning architect and decorator studied at the University of Edinburgh before continuing his training at the Prince of Wales’ Institute of Architecture – a classicist’s education that’s left its mark on his unmistakably British sensibility.
As principal of Ben Pentreath Studio, he now works alongside Amanda Flood, the firm’s West London-based Associate Director, whose background is equally considered. With a Master’s in Fine and Decorative Arts and Design from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Amanda cut her teeth on historic homes and landmark apartments in Chicago and New York before returning to London. Together, the duo has built a body of work with soul, personality, and a story to tell.
Corey Damen Jenkins & Associates
‘Maximalist’ and ‘Manhattan’ converge in perfect harmony under the eye of Corey Damen Jenkins – principal and CEO of his eponymous New York-based firm, Corey Damen Jenkins & Associates. Known for his fearless use of color, texture, and pattern, Jenkins has become a household name in the design world.
He’s also a member of the elite MasterClass faculty and the author of Design Remix: A New Spin on Traditional Rooms, which has gone into its sixth reprint since debuting in 2021. His follow-up, Design Reimagined: A Fresh and Colorful Take on Timeless Rooms, hits shelves September 9, 2025 – accompanied by a YouTube series of the same name. Bold, articulate, and boundary-pushing, Corey is the blueprint for design’s new multidisciplinary era.
Christopher Peacock
Ever heard of couture cabinetry? You have now – and you can thank Christopher Peacock. The acclaimed designer, whose client list includes not one but two U.S. presidents, is back at the Kips Bay Show House for a record-breaking ninth kitchen.
Christopher moved to the U.S. in 1987 as a senior designer for a British luxury cabinetmaker before launching his own namesake brand in 1992 – starting in Greenwich, Connecticut, and expanding to showrooms across the U.S., as well as Cannes and Jakarta. His kitchens are analogous to architectural tailoring – fitted, refined, and effortlessly elevated.
Jamie Drake
Interior designer Jamie Drake doesn’t just decorate homes – he shapes institutions. From the renovation of New York’s Gracie Mansion to glass-walled penthouses and art-forward healthcare spaces, his work spans function, glamour, and history. A fixture on every major design list, Jamie’s signature blend of contemporary comfort and polished luxury has translated into collections of rugs, furniture, lighting, and bath fixtures.
He’s also long been part of the Show House story – not only as a featured designer, but as vice chair of the Kips Bay Decorator Show House and co-chair of its iconic President’s Dinner.
Mark Hampton LLC
As the owner and president of Mark Hampton LLC, the celebrated design firm founded by her late father, the legendary American decorator Mark Hampton, Alexa has upheld his legacy of scholarship, artistry, and refined taste since 1988. In the years since, she’s crafted timeless interiors around the globe, authored three books on decorating, and launched a range of licensed collections spanning furniture, lighting, textiles, and more – all in pursuit of making great design more accessible.
This year marks the firm’s fifth time participating in the Kips Bay Show House – and its 50th year in business, a fitting parallel to the Show House’s own golden anniversary.
Pavarini Design
Landmarks like the Seagram Tower, United Nations, and Lincoln Center call for landmark-level design – something Pavarini Design Inc. knows intimately, having worked on all three. Known for its refined European aesthetic, the firm blends classical structure with modern elements like custom millwork, dramatic lighting, and smart technology. At the helm is Charles Pavarini III – a multihyphenate whose background spans interiors, set design, couture, and product development – bringing a theatrical sensibility to every space.
Vice President J. Randall Tarasuk plays an equally key role in shaping the firm’s vision, balancing Charles’ bold flourishes with technical precision and historical depth. Together, they’ve earned 35 awards and counting, with a portfolio that bridges timeless design and cutting-edge detail.
