Floyd Mayweather looking forward to returning to 'party city' Newcastle for talk show

Boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather says he's looking forward to returning to 'party city' Newcastle when his tour stops at the Tyne Theatre and Opera House in March.

Mayweather announced an 'Evening With' UK tour this week, which will see the undefeated boxing star, widely considered one the greatest of all time, meet fans and take part in a question and answer. He will be on Tyneside on March 7, with tickets, ranging between £40 to £499, on sale now and expected to go fast.

Mayweather was last in Newcastle in March 2017 when he did a similar show at Gateshead's Lancastrian Suite. Despite his reputation and bad reviews of shows elsewhere, he seemed to genuinely enjoy his time in the North East, spending more time on stage than needed to pose for extra pictures with fans - something one member of his huge entourage said was not usual of the American.

After the show he experienced Newcastle's party scene, visiting Livello on the Quayside.

Of his upcoming visit, Mayweather said: "I love Newcastle. Those guys like to party as hard as any city i have been to in the world. I am looking forward to meeting the fans there again too.”

Steve Wraith will promote the event in association with Goldstar Promotions.

He said: "Floyd is an unbeaten boxing legend. His record of 50-0 speaks for itself.

"Last time he was here fight fans were blown away with his stories and charisma and the show sold out in minutes.

"We have opted for a bigger, more prestigious venue on this occasion. The Tyne Theatre and Opera house is made for shows like this.”

As well as stories about his incredible career, you can be sure the boxer, who refers to himself as 'The Money', will be asked about reports last year linking him with a takeover of Newcastle United.

Tickets are on sale now and are available from NewcastleLegends.com .
