Why Florida State Will Win
What did it take for Wake Forest to finally lose?
The Demon Demon offense kept on working in the 62-59 loss to Louisville, but the turnovers were the killer. It gave up two picks and a fumble in the loss – the first time all year it gave away multiple turnovers – and it was just enough to tip the scales.
The Florida State defense has had its ups-and-downs this season – to be kind – but it’s been steady when it comes to taking the ball away with 12 on the year and two or more in every game except the close call against ULM.
The Wake Forest passing game has been able to roll against the mediocre, but it had a hard time against the North Carolina back seven and had a fight against Boston College – those were the two biggest battles before losing to Louisville.
The Seminole secondary will give up well over 200 yards, because that’s what it does. However, the pass rush should be just good enough to come through in a few key moments, and the FSU passing game should be able to keep up the pace.
There was a problem against a jacked-up Clemson defense last week, but no matter who’s at quarterback, the offense and fantastic passing game should be able to keep up the pace.

Why Wake Forest Will Win
The Wake Forest offense continues to be the real deal.
Yes, it struggled against North Carolina and Boston College, but it was still able to pull off wins when games bogged down a bit. Florida State isn’t the type of team that’s going to grind things to a halt – it’s last in the nation in time of possession.
The Demon Deacons are great at pressing and pressing some more with their passing attack that keeps on cranking up the production. Even in the loss to Louisville, Jamie Newman threw for 251 yards and three scores, and now he’s going to press the FSU secondary that’s just not producing well enough.
The Noles just aren’t sharp enough. There are too many penalties, too few long drives, and not enough consistency. This week, the Wake Forest pass rush will keep those issues just enough to come up with a stop or two, and that’s all this Demon Deacon team needs.

What’s Going To Happen
Wake Forest is too good on third downs – FSU isn’t – it’s too good at not committing penalties or making a whole slew of mistakes. The Demon Deacons are going to keep on coming with their passing game keeping the heat on, and the Noles aren’t going to be able to keep up.
It’ll be a shootout, it’ll be fun, and it’ll be another big win for Wake Forest to quickly get past the Louisville loss.
