Florida Man Thanks Authorities Before Being Executed For Killing His Wife And Two Children: 'I Have No Complaint'

A Florida man convicted of killing his wife and children thanked authorities before being executed on Thursday.

Concretely, Edward Zakrzewski said he wanted to "thank the good people of the Sunshine State for killing me in the most cold, calculated, clean, humane, efficient way possible." "I have no complaint."

Zakrzewski was pronounced dead at Florida State Prison after a three-drug injection. Fox News detailed that it consists of a sedative, a paralytic and a drug that stops the heart. It was the ninth execution in the state so far this year, already a record since the death penalty was reinstated in the U.S. almost five decades ago. The state is scheduled to conduct two more executions in August. So far there have been 27 executions across the U.S. in 2025.

His last meal included fried pork chops, root beer and ice cream, state Department of Corrections spokesman Paul Walker said. He had one visitor and "remained compliant" as the time of his execution neared, he added.

Zakrzewski was convicted of killing his wife Sylvia and their children, Edward and Anna, in 1994. He committed the crimes at their home after his wife asked him for a divorce. He attacked his wife with a crowbar and strangled her with a rope, later killing the children with a machete.

His lawyers filed several appeals over the year but all were unsuccessful. The U.S. Supreme Court also rejected a plea for a stay of execution on Wednesday.
