Flat bid instead of student accommodation on site of old school playground in Yorkhill

Plans have been submitted to build 30 flats on the site of a former primary school playground in Yorkhill.

The area, on the corner of Teviot Street and Gilbert Street, was originally given planning permission in 2018 to build 100 student accommodation flats.

However, the owners have since submitted a new application to Glasgow City Council to build 30 flats on former Kelvinhaugh Primary School girls playground.

The development by Surplus Property Solutions would have 18 two bedroom flats and 12 three bedrooms apartments - with 20 car parking spaces.

Drawings have also been submitted for an outside roof amenity space.

The application will go before council planners in the next few months.
