Flaming great? Strictly's Chris Ramsey proves the (serious) business for fans in dramatic performance

He promised fire and drama and Chris Ramsey delivered on Strictly Come Dancing's live show on Saturday when he set the floor alight - quite literally.

Flames and projections added colour to the comedian's dreaded tango which saw him and dance partner Karen Hauer wearing black - and serious expressions - for the latest heat in the, er, hot competition.

Earlier, Chris , from South Shields, had told how he was preparing for a return to a serious performance after last week's fun show which scored the pair their highest points to date - and he revealed he would not be allowed to smile in the dance which was proving an added pressure.

But, despite a few harsh words from judge Craig Revel-Horwood afterwards - who told him to "up your game" - the pair bagged 26 and a standing ovation from the audience.

Later, Chris, still dressed in his tango outfit, made his first Twitter live appearance to thank fans for their unfailing support - and hopefully their votes.

He also tweeted followers to say: "So many lush comments from you lot on here. Means the world! That dance was bloody terrifying! Vote if you can!"

One comment on Twitter said: " Chris Ramsey always makes me smile. Nice guy," while another wrote:  "Who knew Chris Ramsey could do sexy!!!" and fan Zoe Busby tweeted to urge people to vote for the pair and said: " Chris Ramsey and Karen Hauer are on the perfect dance adventure. You couldn't ask any more from a non dancer".

The Strictly results will be aired on BBC1 this Sunday night at 7.20pm.
