Ireland's first tour of New Zealand in a decade will feature 40 players and Andy Farrell's squad will be captained by Johnny Sexton.
Farrell has named five uncapped players in his panel, with Ciaran Frawley, Joe McCarthy and Jimmy O’Brien (all Leinster), Jeremy Loughman (Munster) and Cian Prendergast (Connacht) all included.
But while Munster's Tadhg Beirne, Leinster's James Lowe and Ulster's Michael Lowry have shrugged off injury concerns to make the trip for the three-Test series against the All Blacks, backs Robert Baloucoune (Ulster) and Andrew Conway and Chris Farrell (both Munster), as well as first choice hooker Ronan Kelleher (Leinster), have all been ruled out.
Ireland's mission is to win a Test on Kiwi soil for the first time ever as the squad embarks on a first summer tour since the 2018 series win over Australia.
Five players in the current squad toured New Zealand in 2012 – Cian Healy, Peter O’Mahony, Conor Murray, Keith Earls and Sexton.
Furthermore, Sexton, O'Mahony, Tadhg Furlong, Iain Henderson, Conor Murray and Robbie Henshaw were part of the British & Irish Lions squad that toured New Zealand in 2017.
Ireland will play three Test matches against New Zealand in Auckland, Dunedin and Wellington as well as two fixtures against the Māori All Blacks in Hamilton ahead of the first Test and in Wellington following the second Test.
Farrell will tour with a dozen players who have not yet reached double digits in terms of Test caps earned, with Leinster's Harry Byrne getting the nod as the squad's third out-half behind Sexton and Joey Carbery, and after a difficult injury-hit season that saw him moved to centre in the second half of the campaign.
Byrne made only four appearances as a no 10 during the season.

The other relative newcomers are Lowry, Craig Casey, Gavin Coombes, Mack Hansen, James Hume, Ryan Baird, Dave Heffernan, Tom O’Toole, Dan Sheehan, Nick Timoney and Kieran Treadwell.
Farrell said: "This is the start of our Rugby World Cup campaign and it is going to be a fantastic challenge for our group facing five massive tests across the three weeks.

"Due to Covid we haven’t had an opportunity to tour and touring plays a massive role in teams gelling together and building cohesion on and off the field.
"This group could also be the last to play a Test series in New Zealand which makes it even more special.
"We will learn so much about the players and the group as a whole as we have to front up for five incredibly tough fixtures, far from the comforts of home and in grounds where the home support will greatly outnumber travelling Irish fans."

Connacht’s Senior Coach Peter Wilkins will join the national coaching group for the duration of the tour to assist in team preparation while Mick Kearney returns as team manager.
