Five taken to hospital after serious crash on Belfast's Ravenhill Road

Five people were hospitalised after a serious crash in Belfast on Saturday night.

The two-vehicle crash happened on the Ravenhill Road after 9pm after reports of up to seven casualties.

Emergency services were called to the scene, including the PSNI and the NI Fire and Rescue Service.

Three people were taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital and two others were taken to the Ulster Hospital.

A number of people were also treated at the scene.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) said it received a 999 call close to 9.30pm on January 22 following reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the Ravenhill Road.

NIAS dispatched four emergency crews, three intermediate care crews, one doctor and two ambulance officers to the incident.

Diversions were in place last night on the Albertbridge Road and Shamrock Street, while the Ravenhill Road reopened at around 9am on Sunday morning.
