Five men held in Delhi for Rs 1.1-crore robbery

NEW DELHI: Five people have been arrested from the Trans Yamuna area for their involvement in a robbery case in north Delhi’s Civil Lines, police said on Thursday.

On March 3, two employees of a Rohini-based businessman collected payment of over Rs 1.1 crore from a person in Chandni Chowk. On their way back, a motorcycle hit their scooty from behind near Chandgiram traffic signal. “After a brief verbal duel between them, the robbers whipped out their pistols and fled with the bags...we found that the accused had donated Rs 1 lakh from the looted amount to a temple,” an officer said.

“With the help of CCTV footage, investigators were able to identify the accused.”
