Five charged with conspiracy to supply after Ellesmere Port, Wrexham and Liverpool raids

Five men were remanded into custody after appearing in Chester Magistrates Courts charged with a series of drug offences.

The men, including two from the Ellesmere Port area, were arrested after police swooped at addresses across Ellesmere Port, Liverpool and North Wales on Wednesday, May 12 and appeared at Chester Magistrates Court yesterday.

Martin Clibery, 47, of Sutton Way in Great Sutton, was charged with two counts of conspiracy to supply heroin and crack cocaine alongside Macauley Smith, 24, of Hallword Walk Ellesmere Port.

Anthony Evans, 49, of Green Street, Liverpool was also charged with two counts of conspiracy to supply heroine and crack cocaine and possession with intent to supply a class A drug.

James Monaghan, 27, of Ruabon Road, Wrexham was also charged with two counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

Jan-Peter Wharton, 57, of Somerville Crescent, Ellesmere Port was also charged with with two counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

The five men were arrested on Wednesday at five addresses across Ellesmere Port, Liverpool and North Wales.

The men were remanded in custody and appeared at Chester Magistrates Court yesterday.

A 47-year-old woman from Liverpool was released under investigation pending further enquiries.
