Fisher hasn't coached a game for Texas A&M yet, but he already has an Aggies national title plaque

Apparently, the Texas A&M football program can't get enough attention.

Over the weekend Aggies quarterback Nick Starkel started a social media campaign that he hoped would introduce him to pop superstar Justin Bieber.

Earlier this week A&M tight ends coach Tim Brewster tweeted out a recruiting image of several former Florida State defensive backs with Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher, which former Seminoles great Jalen Ramsey didn't appreciate.

Now, the university has released footage of Chancellor John Sharp handing Fisher, who has yet to coach a game for the Aggies, a college football national championship plaque at the Chancellor's Century Council annual meeting on Feb. 16.

When Sharp was asked what he was looking for in a new head coach after a special meeting of the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents last November, he projected the same self-assured confidence.

"Nothing serious. Just want to win a national championship," he said. Several days later, the university lured Fisher away from Florida State with a 10-year, $75 million contract.

Texas A&M has not won a football national title since the Aggies went 11-0 in 1939. At that time, the champions were determined by the Associated Press writers' poll.
