Fish and chip shop starts selling 'phenomenal' new special burger at Ayrshire takeaway

An Ayrshire chip shop has started selling what's been billed as a 'phenomenal' new burger.

Kilmarnock's Plaice To Be was revealed as one of the UK's best takeaways last week.

And now the eaterie is looking to cement its place among the greats with a new creation.

Billed as a special burger, it'll only be available today, fish chiefs confirmed.

The Plaice To Be posted on Facebook: "Our very own fish burger.

"Our fish burger is a small boneless haddock cooked in our light crispy batter, served on a bed of fresh lettuce in a brioche bun with homemade tartare sauce and cheese.

"Just tried this have to say it’s phenomenal! Can be battered or breaded! This Friday only as a special."
