Day 6 of First Stand 2026 was the semifinal day, and we had G2 Esports, the LEC First Stand winner that managed to defeat BNK FEARX to make it this far, face scary and powerful Gen.G, while the second matchup was a repeat of LPL’s grand final between BLG and JDG.
No one expected G2 to show up, but they did the unthinkable.
Match 1: G2 vs. Gen.G
Gen.G was coming into the semifinal matchup with G2 Esports as a heavy favorite, having blown every team they faced before out of the water. G2’s form was on the upswing: after losing against the dominant BLG, they defeated BNK FEARX to make it into the semis, but no one expected them to win.
Defying all odds, however, G2 completely dominated the best Korean team and made it into the grand final.

Match 2: BLG vs. JDG
The second matchup of the day was between the LPL rivals BLG and JDG. They already met numerous times in 2026, with JDG, against all odds, taking the regular season matches. However, BLG, led by Knight and Viper, came back strong during the playoffs and beat JDG twice: first in the winners’ final, and then in the grand final.
Based on the First Stand performance, BLG were favored in this matchup as well: they were the only ones to completely dominate G2 Esports, which already made it into the final.
Game 1 was a methodical dismantling of any resistance JDG put up. BLG never overforced their hand, they took advantages and objectives every time they came back on the map, and ended the game with more than 15 thousand gold lead. They could have ended it earlier, but uncharacteristically for an LPL team, they took a much more careful approach.
In game 2, we witnessed a perfect showcase of why Mel is a disgusting champion in the hands of such a skilled player as Knight, and that she wins essentially any 2v2 alongside Poppy. Xun played a perfect jungle game, with 0 deaths and advantages for every lane.
Game 3 will be the reason why there’s gonna be an invasion of Anivia supports in your ranked games. Unfortunately, none of them are ON, who had a flawless game, ruining JunJia’s and Xiaohu’s day, as they were playing Olaf and Tryndamere, two champions that have notorious issues dealing with all the road hazards the ice bird puts up. And once more, Bin had a deathless game, terrorizing the side lanes while the rest of the team tried to deal with their opponents elsewhere.
With this victory, BLG reconfirm their status as the best Chinese team and will go up against their old friend from the group stage, G2 Esports.
Today is the final day of First Stand 2026, and with the event already giving us a colossal upset, it’s difficult to say who’s the ultimate favorite. Even if BLG repeats what happened in the group stage, G2 Esports boys can still hold their heads high.
