First picture of 'loving mum' who died after being 'hit by car' on Scots street as family pay tribute

A pedestrian who died in a road crash on a Scots street has been named by police as Suzanne Farrell.

The 62-year-old had been walking along Marionville Road in the Meadowbank area of Edinburgh at 10.50pm on Friday, May 6 before she was allegedly struck by a Vauxhall Zafira.

Emergency services rushed the mum to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh but she was pronounced dead a day later.

Suzanne's family have described her as a "beautiful soul" in a touching tribute.

Her daughter, Kerryann Hutchison, thanked the emergency services and nearby pedestrians for their help and support during the incident.

She said: “My mum was honestly the sweetest, kindest, most loving, caring, gentle and beautiful soul, and enjoying life.

“She is sorely missed by everyone who knew her. I am broken by what has happened, as are the rest of the family and all friends who knew her.

“I would like to say thank you to the staff and customers of The Hoppy Bar, where she had been that night, for their help and support. I could not have coped without them. And a thank you to the emergency services.”

The 33-year-old male driver of the silver Vauxhall Zafira that was involved in the collision was arrested in connection with the incident.

He has since been released by officers pending further enquiries - prompting a public appeal for information, witnesses and dash cam footage.

Anyone with information, who has not already spoken to officers, should contact 101, quoting incident number 4131 of Friday, May 6, 2022.
